CEO James DeLuca had previously told investors in February 2025 that production would start by late 2026, a timeline the launch appears to confirm.

Ceer Motors unveiled its first electric vehicles, the Exobot sedan and SUV, at a ceremony led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The launch marked the first models to roll off the new factory in King Abdullah Economic City, and the unveiling highlighted the company’s ambition to enter the electric-vehicle market.

The two Exobot variants are the opening act of a planned seven-model portfolio that the automaker intends to release over the next five years, covering midsize and compact segments with a range of powertrain configurations. This rollout is meant to position the brand across several market niches.

Pricing details and an official sales date have not been disclosed, and the company said it will announce those figures later through official channels and media briefings.

Speaking at the event, the crown prince, who also chairs the Public Investment Fund, described the rollout as part of a broader effort to build a sustainable, prosperous industrial base in the kingdom. He emphasized that the initiative aligns with the nation’s Vision 2030 goals for diversification.

In the same month, the automaker signed 16 commercial agreements worth more than SAR 3.7 billion, targeting 45% localisation of parts by 2034. Ceer is expected to add more than SAR 30 billion to Saudi GDP and contribute upward of SAR 80 billion toward improving the country’s trade balance by 2034.

The venture is a joint effort between the Public Investment Fund and Taiwan’s Foxconn, with German-engineered components supplied by BMW for vehicle development.

In June 2024, it secured a SAR 8.2 billion deal with Hyundai Transys to provide lightweight, efficient EV drive systems.

The fund also holds a majority stake in California’s Lucid Group, increasing its investment to $8 billion for a 58% share. Lucid’s interim CEO Marc Winterhoff said the firm plans to shift from assembly-only operations near Jeddah to full
